Call for Expressions of Interest for the Invictus Games 2027

The Invictus Games Foundation is now open to receiving expressions of interest to host the Invictus Games 2027.

The Invictus Games is an adaptive sporting competition to support the recovery of wounded injured and sick Service personnel and veterans (WIS) drawn from the Invictus Community of Nations, currently consisting of 23 countries, which takes place biennially. The Games are about more than just sport, existing as an integral component of the overall recovery pathway, supporting not just the individual, but the family, friends and community around them.

Dominic Reid OBE, CEO of the Invictus Games Foundation, said:

We were delighted to receive so many strong applications for the Invictus Games 2025 and to award the Games to Vancouver Whistler earlier this year. The time has now come to begin the exciting process of selecting the host city for the Invictus Games 2027. Hosting the Invictus Games carries with it tremendous legacy opportunities for the wider community post-Games. As seen with Invictus Australia for example, which took up the baton post-Sydney to continue to spread the Invictus Spirit. Our board of trustees and I strongly encourage cities within participating nations who have not yet played host to the Invictus Games to consider applying.”

Any aspiring host city must demonstrate a tangible legacy plan alongside delivering an international sporting event that attracts spectators, sponsors and wider society to attend and show their respect for the armed forces men and women in recovery.

The Invictus Games 2027 should run over approximately one week, for up to 550 competitors, with the nine core sports and flexibility for additional activities and competitions including esports. At each Invictus Games, two family and friend members are also allocated space to attend in support of their loved one.

For more information on hosting an Invictus Games, please download the guidance here or contact the Invictus Games Foundation. A formal request for proposals will follow initial expressions of interest.

If you are interested in bidding and can meet the criteria listed in the bidding document, the Foundation will require a brief description of the reasons for your interest and the potential bid. The deadline to submit an expression of interest is no later than 20th February 2023, this should include a 2-3 page submission outlining: Proposed Impact; Vision and Legacy; Infrastructure; Funding; Governance.

If you are considering making an expression of interest, and want further information, please get in touch with Operations Director Richard Smith and Operations Executive Caroline Davis at info@invictusgames.org.

Death is the worst outcome of malnutrition’s ugly grasp, but it’s not the only outcome. Children who survive can face devastating side effects that last a lifetime, preventing them from achieving success in school and pursuing meaningful work in adulthood.

The causes of malnutrition beyond simply lacking food. It includes many complicated factors related to poverty, political context, climate change, feeding practices, disease, contaminated water and Poor sanitation. Lastly, conflict has contributed to malnutrition by destabilizing the community where he lives.
